We Make Change

We Make Change operates an online platform that connects professionals who want to volunteer their skills with mission-driven, impact-focused startups for remote, flexible engagements. Individuals register, select causes, skills and availability, and are matched to opportunities that can be as short as three hours or extend to multi-month projects, typically at 2-8 hours per week. Skill categories covered include technology and creative (web development, UI/UX and graphic design, data science), marketing and communications, business and operations (business development, project management, operations, finance, HR), and research and advisory (research, legal, strategy).

For startups, participation is free: they post roles and receive volunteer applicants, can join corporate mentoring sessions, and receive visibility through the company's channels to its ChangeMaker audience. For corporate clients, the company runs "Change Days" — three-hour virtual or hybrid sprints in which employee breakout groups mentor an impact founder on a live business challenge, following a structured sequence of introductions, problem framing, ideation, presentation of recommendations and reflection. We Make Change handles event creation, matchmaking of teams to startups, facilitation and delivery of an impact report within 24 hours, and issues participants a Change Day accreditation. The format is positioned as both an employee skills and team development activity and a corporate volunteering or ESG programme.

Business model

The platform is free for impact startups, which post roles and receive skilled remote volunteer applicants and mentoring support. Revenue-generating activity is directed at corporate clients, who book fully hosted Change Day sessions delivered as employee engagement, skills development and volunteering programmes, including event design, matchmaking, facilitation and post-event impact reporting.
