Alumni Q&A

How did your company get started? (i.e., How did the founders meet? How did you come up with the idea? How did you decide to be a founder?)
The founders, Anton and David, met at a tennis academy in middle school and bonded over building web apps and playing tennis. They bootstrapped VideoGen from their college dorm rooms and reached over 1 million users in under a year.
What is the core problem you are solving? Why is this a big problem? What made you decide to work on it?
The founders are addressing the difficulty of making videos, where steps such as scripting, recording voice-overs, sourcing and licensing footage, and editing are time-consuming. They note that existing editing tools are complicated and hiring someone to produce videos is costly and slow.

Summarized from the founders' answers on their Y Combinator profile.
