Stryd

Stryd is a Boulder, Colorado company that builds a wearable running power meter and an accompanying training platform. The core product is a small pod that clips to a runner's shoe, measures motion in three dimensions along with environmental conditions such as wind, heat and humidity, and reports a single power number in watts alongside pace, distance and other running metrics. Early versions of the device measured 12 metrics covering running technique, training intensity, muscle strength and the external running environment, with the aim of giving runners an objective measure of effort comparable to what power meters provide in cycling.

The current hardware line consists of Stryd 5.0, a single pod, and Stryd Duo 5.0, a two-pod configuration that adds dual-sided balance metrics via Stryd Footpath. The 5.0 generation is described as 15% smaller by volume than the prior pod, weighing 8 grams, with an aerospace-grade aluminum mount, an advanced fiber material enclosure, double silicone anchoring clip, an environmental port, double-tap battery reporting, a magnetic keychain charger, extended antenna performance, roughly one month of battery life (20+ hours of continuous running), splash resistance, and ANT+ and BLE connectivity. Devices pair with Garmin, Apple Watch, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Wahoo, Amazfit and Wear OS watches.

On the software side, Stryd offers the Stryd app and PowerCenter, Adaptive Training (AI-generated daily workouts that adjust to a runner's fitness, schedule and training phases such as Base, Peak, Test, Recovery and Maintenance), power-based race plans for 5K through marathon distances, Critical Power testing, a workout library of more than 600 power-based sessions, a Stryd Assistant, and Stryd Labs for early access to features in development.
