What is the core problem you are solving? Why is this a big problem? What made you decide to work on it?

The founders note that despite large spending on weather infrastructure, such as satellites costing over $100 million each and the US National Weather Service spending more than a billion dollars a year on weather balloon stations, much of the Earth lacks direct in-situ observations, with oceans especially poorly covered. Sorcerer is deploying a network of low-cost, persistent weather drones to gather real-time data in previously unmonitored areas, which the founders say collects 30x more observations than the entire global observation infrastructure at 1% of the cost. This data trains a weather model they describe as competitive with traditional prediction methods at roughly 10,000x lower cost.
