Skyhook

Skyhook offers a production-grade internal developer platform (IDP) built on Kubernetes and deployed into a customer's own cloud environment. The product is positioned as combining Kubernetes capabilities with the operational simplicity of a platform-as-a-service: Skyhook builds, orchestrates and manages the platform stack while the customer retains ownership of it and the ability to change or extend the underlying tools. For developers, Skyhook provides a self-service interface accessible via CLI, API, or UI, with features such as preview/ephemeral environments, canary deployments, auto-scaling, and predefined "golden paths" intended to remove dependence on DevOps ticket queues. For DevOps and platform engineering teams, it provides a preconfigured platform with monitoring, rollout strategies, secret management, reusable self-service actions, and visibility, while leaving Kubernetes accessible underneath for extensibility and advanced requirements. The platform integrates tools from the Kubernetes ecosystem, including ArgoCD, Kyverno, and Grafana, and supports any language or framework. It also includes an AI agent that exposes context about a customer's stack, standards, and golden paths through a chat interface. The stated lifecycle coverage spans building, deploying, running, scaling, and observing applications, including GitOps-based CI/CD, environment management, cost optimization, and incident management.
