Founding story

Reliant AI was co-founded by Karl Moritz Hermann, DPhil, who serves as CEO and previously sold his first startup, Dark Blue Labs, to Google in 2014 and spent five years as a senior staff researcher at DeepMind; Marc G. Bellemare, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer, a Canada CIFAR AI Chair at Mila whose Atari 2600 benchmark work published in Nature is credited with launching deep reinforcement learning and who previously led the reinforcement learning team at Google Brain in Montréal after working as a research scientist at DeepMind in the UK; and Richard Schlegel, PhD, Head of Commercial, who holds a PhD in lung cancer research from Imperial College London and previously worked in consulting at Navigant/Guidehouse and on the EY-Parthenon Life Sciences Strategy team.
