Raysecur

RaySecur develops security screening technology based on terahertz (T-ray) imaging, marketed under the MailSecur product name. The system penetrates sealed mail and parcels to produce a real-time "4D" view — a live three-dimensional perspective plus full motion — allowing operators to identify concealed anomalies before items reach people or facilities. The company positions T-ray imaging as complementary to, or a replacement for, X-ray and metal-detection screening, which it states are less effective at revealing low-density materials such as powders, liquids and drug-soaked paper.

MailSecur combines T-ray imaging hardware with 4D visualization and detection software intended to screen for multiple categories of concealed threats, including contraband and CBRNE threats. The company states that the system has received a Designation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology under the SAFETY Act. Alongside the product, RaySecur publishes educational material such as a Contraband Field Guide and Corrections Field Guide covering industry risk, DHS guidelines and mail-security program practices, and it is pursuing an NSF-funded AI program for terahertz threat detection.

Traction

Published customer references include the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, which deployed MailSecur to screen special mail (legal, media and business mail) after digitizing standard inmate mail; Moderna, a global biotechnology firm using MailSecur as part of an enterprise-wide security strategy for inbound mail; and a major 2020 U.S. presidential candidate whose security team used MailSecur to screen mail for himself, his family and staff. The company also cites usage by more than 25 state departments of corrections and federal agencies and by four of the five most valuable companies in the world.

Latest developments

In November 2025 the company issued a funding announcement involving IQT together with a momentum press release. In March 2026 it announced the launch of a digital platform as part of a $1.5M NSF-funded AI program for terahertz threat detection. Scheduled 2026 event appearances include Fed SuperNova (August 2026), the NBA Security Conference (August–September 2026) and Global Security Exchange (September 2026), and it released a 2026 Contraband Field Guide and 2026 Corrections Field Guide.
