Pomerium is an open-source, self-hosted identity-aware reverse proxy that enforces per-request authentication and authorization (zero trust network access) in front of web apps, Kubernetes ingress, kubectl, and agentic/AI requests. Built on the Envoy proxy and configured via YAML, it integrates with external identity providers and serves homelab users, internal teams, and enterprises as a clientless alternative to VPNs.
