PermitFlow

PermitFlow is a New York City-based software company that automates pre-construction workflows for the U.S. construction industry, with construction permitting as its core product. Founding story

PermitFlow was founded in 2021 by Francis Thumpasery (Co-Founder & CEO) and Samuel Lam (Co-Founder & CTO), who say they encountered the delays, complexity and inefficiency of construction permitting firsthand. Working with contractors, developers and local AHJs, the founders observed that fragmented systems and manual workflows added overhead and slowed projects before construction began, making pre-construction expensive and unpredictable and creating a bottleneck for housing, infrastructure, commercial development and home services. Lam previously built workflow tooling for reporting and payments at Uber Eats, co-founded the online marketing agency NXTFactor, and studied computer science and statistics at Harvard.
