Mauna

Mauna, operating the product MaunaOne and the consumer-facing Mauna Marketplace, is a Mexico-based platform for businesses that sell by date, schedule or capacity. Merchants publish activities with prices, descriptions, schedules and capacity limits, then share a hosted sales link (maunaone.com/<merchant>) through WhatsApp, Instagram, their own website or paid campaigns, or embed it in their site. Customers select an activity, date and number of places, pay online, and automatically receive confirmation and a QR ticket by email that can be added to a calendar.

The platform combines online reservations, card and digital-wallet payments processed through Stripe, ticketing with QR-based check-in at the door, and an operations dashboard covering reservations, attendees, calendar and reports, plus a customer record of who purchased, how much they paid, which date they chose and who has yet to confirm. The company positions the product against the manual workflow of chat messages, bank-transfer receipts and spreadsheets, including unpaid holds that block capacity, manual confirmation of each customer, and a lack of visibility into which sales channel produces bookings.

Alongside the SaaS product, Mauna runs a marketplace at mauna.mx where consumers browse and book experiences by city, category, price and group type (open or private). Listings include guided hikes and summit expeditions, kayaking in Xochimilco, mezcal and wine tastings, cooking, mixology and craft workshops, and cultural tours, priced in Mexican pesos and concentrated in Mexico City and Querétaro.

Business model

Software-as-a-service for merchants combined with per-transaction commissions, alongside an experiences marketplace. Payments are processed directly into each merchant's own Stripe account, with MaunaOne's commission charged separately from Stripe's processing fee.

Tiered subscription plus take rate: a free self-service plan with 5% + VAT per sale; a Pro plan at MXN 899/month + VAT with 2% + VAT per sale; and an Escala plan at MXN 1,990/month + VAT with 1% + VAT per sale (eligibility around MXN 100,000/month in sales and 90 days of history). Qualifying large events (over MXN 250,000 in sales) can use an event fee of 4% + VAT with a MXN 9,900 minimum creditable against commission, which includes setup, access control and day-of support.

Traction

A published customer account from Viñedo Las Pudencianas describes growing from one location to four locations operating on MaunaOne, with reservations, payments and confirmations handled automatically. The marketplace lists dozens of bookable experiences across adventure, gastronomy, tastings and workshop categories, some with hundreds of customer ratings.
