Kvasir Technologies has developed a liquefaction process that converts non-edible plant biomass (lignocellulose from agricultural and forestry waste) into a CO2-neutral drop-in biofuel that serves as a 1:1 substitute for fossil marine fuel. A spin-out from the Technical University of Denmark, its fuel is designed to integrate with the existing marine fuel supply chain to help shipping fleets meet IMO emission reduction targets.
