Kno2

Kno2 is a healthcare interoperability company that operates what it describes as a full-stack communication network linking clinical systems, data, workflows and communication pathways. The network is accessed in two ways: the Kno2 Communication API, a single integration built around Send, Receive and Find routes, and Kno2fy, a turnkey web-based portal that gives provider and health technology organizations immediate access to the network without a custom build. The company positions the single connection as a substitute for maintaining separate integrations for each exchange channel or framework as requirements change.

Earlier company materials frame the mission as democratizing healthcare communication through simple technology, flexible data models and low-cost economics, with explicit focus on reaching underserved provider segments including small and medium physician offices, post-acute care, behavioral health and community services.

Founding story

Kno2 was founded in 2010 by Therasa Bell, who serves as president and chief technology officer, and Dane Meuler, senior vice president of business development. Both had previously worked at Imagetek, an IT services company, where Bell was vice president and chief solutions architect and Meuler was vice president of business development. The company says it has been focused since founding on solving healthcare interoperability barriers and extending communication to underserved participants.

Business model

Kno2 sells connectivity to its communication network to healthcare technology vendors and provider organizations, either through API integration or through the Kno2fy portal, positioning itself as the single vendor relationship that replaces per-channel integrations. The company emphasizes a partner-community model in which EHRs and health IT platforms embed Kno2 connectivity and deliver the user experience in their own products, plus onboarding, education and ongoing support services.

Headcount was just under 20 at the end of 2020 with plans to reach 50 by the end of 2021. Named partners and users include The Pennant Group, Zus Health and Open Dental, the latter announced in 2026 as the first electronic dental record technology connected to Kno2. Latest developments

In April 2026 Kno2 appointed Alan Swenson as chief of staff and senior vice president of network strategy, and it showcased end-to-end data exchange across provider, patient, payer and aligned-network pledges with its partner community at the CMS Health Technology Ecosystem National Showcase. In July 2026 Open Dental became the first electronic dental record technology to connect to Kno2, extending the network into dental interoperability. The company continues to build out CMS Aligned Networks capabilities for delivery through its Communication API.
