Juniper

Juniper, presenting itself under the name Latent Variables, is an applied research lab developing agentic systems aimed at organizational change. The lab describes roughly two years of work on a single question: what it means for an organization to change, and how thousands of people, decisions, incentives and routines move from one state to another. Its founders state that designing a transformation proved far easier than understanding what happened once that transformation met the organization, and that no existing technology provided a faithful "navigation system" for the organization as a living system — so they set out to build one.

The lab positions its work at the intersection of behavioral science and artificial intelligence, combining researchers and engineers and stating an intent to study organizational change over the long term and convert those findings into technology that leaders can use. Its stated mission is to help organizations change without operating blind and while keeping people central to the process. Founding story

The lab was founded by Hector Benitez Ventura, Yashraj Patel and Noah Alexander, who spent about two years working on how organizations change. Unable to find technology that could faithfully map how change moves through an organization once deployed, they decided to build it themselves, framing the effort as increasingly urgent because the pace at which change is created is outstripping institutions' capacity to absorb it.
