HeavenHR GmbH operates a cloud-based platform for HR administration and payroll aimed at German employers. The current product generation, marketed as HeavenHR 2.0, is organised into three packages: HR Admin (digital employee file, absence management, time tracking and employee self-service), Payroll (integrated, real-time payroll calculation and simulation), and a certified reporting/communication service for data exchange with social security providers.

In the HR Admin package, employee master data is held centrally in a digital employee file with historical storage of changes, permission management defining who may view or edit specific fields, and validations and automatic queries for tax and social-security data. Absence management covers vacation and sick leave with one-click approvals and automatic calculation of vacation entitlement under the German Federal Vacation Act (BUrlG) based on contract start and end dates and weekly working days. Working hours can be recorded manually, via an integrated digital stopwatch, or through time-tracking terminals, with breaks and overtime documented and fed directly into payroll. Employee self-service lets staff update personal data such as addresses and health insurance details, submit absence requests including electronic incapacity certificates (eAU), record hours and view overtime balances, and download personal documents such as payslips, tax certificates and social security reports once a payroll period is closed.

The payroll module allows payroll runs to be viewed and simulated in real time, with step-by-step assistants intended to keep results compliant with tax and social-security rules without specialist knowledge, combining automation with personal advisory support. The certified reporting service transmits notifications such as incapacity certificates, postings and DEÜV reports to social insurance carriers and retrieves and displays responses centrally in the software.

Business model

HeavenHR sells its HR administration and payroll software directly to companies as a software-as-a-service product, with pricing published on its website and a self-service sign-up flow in which prospects select their number of employees to create a company account; a free trial and scheduled web demos are also offered.
