Emm develops a smart menstrual cup that it describes as the world's first, combining a medical-grade silicone cup with integrated biosensors and a companion mobile app. The sensors automatically track menstrual flow throughout the day and monitor how full the cup is, producing metrics including daily flow rate, total flow volume, cup capacity/usage rate, and period and cycle length and frequency. The stated aim is to give users a measurable baseline for their reproductive health rather than relying on calendar-based logging, so that one-off or longer-term changes in flow and cycle patterns can be identified over months or years.

The product consists of the cup and a charging case. The cup uses low-energy wireless connectivity that is inactive while the cup is in use inside the body; data is transferred to the Emm app only when the cup is outside the body and synced with the charging case. The cup can distinguish whether it is in use, outside the body, or stored in the case. It is positioned for up to 12 hours of wear depending on flow, with a capacity described as equivalent to four regular tampons, a soft ergonomic construction, a flexible grippy stem for removal, and cleaning by rinsing with warm water and mild soap before reinsertion or drying and storage in the case.
