Dandelion Health operates a multimodal real-world data and clinical AI platform aimed at life sciences companies, medical device makers and AI developers. A Clinical AI Marketplace, launched in September 2024, lets researchers convert unstructured notes, images and waveforms into structured, research-ready data using vetted AI algorithms. Solutions are also framed by stage — early clinical, clinical development, post-approval and indication expansion for life sciences customers, and training, validation, regulatory approval and commercialization support for AI developers, including bias checks across geography, demographics, social determinants of health and machine types.

Founding story

CEO Elliott Green writes that in 2020 he joined co-founders Niyum Gandhi, Sendhil Mullainathan and Ziad Obermeyer to start Dandelion Health, motivated by the fragmentation of patient data across legacy systems and the limits of claims and ICD-10 codes. Their premise was that images, waveforms and other unstructured data — described as over 80% of total medical data — hold untapped insight, and that partnering with large regional health systems whose populations reflect national demographics would produce more representative data and less biased algorithms.

Health system partners named include Sharp HealthCare in California, Sanford Health in South Dakota, Texas Health Resources in Texas and Montefiore.

Latest developments

In April 2026 Dandelion announced a partnership with InVision Medical Technology to add echocardiography AI to its clinical AI marketplace, enabling cardiac ultrasound interpretation, disease risk assessment and measurements not routinely captured in care. Montefiore joined the Dandelion consortium in October 2025. In May 2026 the company announced a $14 million Series A led by Healthier Capital to expand pharma partnerships and scale data and engineering infrastructure.
