Founding story

Founder and CEO Guy de Carufel drew on his experience at NASA's Johnson Space Center, where he learned traditional methods of commanding spacecraft from the ground, and on research into artificial intelligence and machine learning. Observing that the number of active satellites was projected to rise from about 2,000 to more than 10,000 within ten years and that assigning an operator to each satellite would not scale, he developed a cloud-based, AI-driven approach to autonomous tasking, initially targeting Earth observation smallsat operators.
