Company profile

researched Aug 2026

Bluefin is a decentralized trading platform built on the Sui blockchain that offers orderbook-based perpetual derivatives, a spot concentrated-liquidity market maker (CLMM), and a lending protocol. The company positions the product for both professional and first-time traders, emphasizing onboarding and trade execution within seconds, and states it has been building on Sui since 2023 because the chain's architecture supports the latency and throughput required for onchain markets. Its site cites the Mysticeti consensus, sub-390ms end-to-end latency and a peak of 297,000 transactions per second.

The product suite documented by the company includes a perpetuals exchange with pre-launch markets and a migration path to a "Pro" interface, spot CLMM trading with a feature called BluefinX, lending, and trading rewards and vault programs. Bluefin also has a native token, BLUE, distributed in part via an airdrop administered under published terms and referencing a Bluefin Foundation. Governance, security and on-ramping documentation are published alongside the trading docs. The platform is not available to United States residents.

Bluefin describes its longer-term aim as expanding from decentralized derivatives into a broader onchain finance hub, framed as becoming the "NYSE equivalent" of decentralized finance, with a stated emphasis on user experience and design.
