Bitsika operates a mobile application through which users deposit cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin or USDT, or pay by debit card, and use the resulting balance to buy in-game currencies and passes for mobile game titles. Supported catalogue items listed on its site include Free Fire diamonds and Booyah Pass, PUBG Mobile UC and Royale Pass, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang diamonds, Honor of Kings tokens, Genshin Impact Genesis Crystals and Primogems, Call of Duty: Mobile COD Points, VALORANT Points, Riot Points for League of Legends, Wild Rift Wild Cores, Honkai: Star Rail Oneiric Shards, EA SPORTS FC Mobile FC Points, Teamfight Tactics Mobile TFT Coins, Arena of Valor vouchers, Identity V Echoes, Farlight 84, Blood Strike, Zenless Zone Zero, Love and Deepspace, State of Survival and Honkai Impact 3. The company states the catalogue spans hundreds of games and thousands of SKUs, plus a selection of non-gaming entertainment top-ups, with delivery to an external game account after payment confirmation and the option to withdraw a crypto balance to an external wallet. Account access uses tiered verification: phone verification at level one for immediate purchases and ID verification at level two for larger amounts. The business began in a different form. Founded by Atsu Davoh, with Samuel Boahen (also rendered Samuel Baohen) as co-founder, the first version of Bitsika let people buy bitcoin over USSD by mapping mobile money accounts already linked to phone numbers to bitcoin wallets, an approach piloted in Ghana. After participating in the second cohort of the Binance Labs incubator, the team tested using Bitsika to collect charity donations before settling on a cross-border payments app aimed at middle-class Africans, described in coverage as a contender for the "Cash App of Africa." By 2022 the product was characterised as a payments app supporting sending and spending money, issuing Visa cards, buying airtime, and buying and selling crypto, with reported expansion beyond 80,000 users.
