Founding story

The founders — Marc Morin (previously founder/CTO of PixStream and Sandvine), David Yach (previously CTO of software at RIM and a VP at Sybase) and Alex Hoff (previously a product manager at Sandvine) — started Auvik in 2011 on the premise that the network remains the foundation of business operations even as technology changes. They observed that cloud, SaaS and distributed work were making networks more complex while giving IT teams less visibility, and framed the company vision as "See, Tell, Do": help IT teams see networks through automated discovery, mapping and monitoring, tell them what matters through insights and alerts, and ultimately act on and resolve problems.

Auvik sells subscription access to its cloud-hosted management platform, with quoted pricing and a 14-day free trial that requires no credit card. Collectors are provided at no cost and customers can deploy as many as needed. Distribution includes direct sales and demos, a channel of MSP partners, distributors, and marketplace availability such as the Pax8 marketplace.

In April 2026 Auvik announced Auvik AI, powered by the Auvik Aurora platform, delivering context-aware troubleshooting, alert prioritization and proactive lifecycle management. In August 2026 the company announced that President Mark Ralls was named an AI Leader on Channel Insider's 2026 Channel List, and appointed Daniel Ochoa as Chief Revenue Officer to scale the revenue organization as the agentic IT management platform expands.
