Airstack

Airstack is a developer platform for integrating web3 data into applications. It aggregates onchain data across multiple chains and decentralized applications and exposes it through a unified GraphQL API, so that developers do not have to rebuild the underlying infrastructure needed to connect applications to onchain and off-chain data sources. Its stated coverage has included token standards such as ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155 and ERC-6551 token bound accounts, as well as identity and social protocols including ENS, Lens, Farcaster, POAP and XMTP.

A distinguishing feature is an AI engine that lets developers express queries in natural language (for example, requesting the tokens, NFT images and Lens and Farcaster usernames associated with an address) and receive corresponding API queries; one account reports that 85% of users begin with an AI query. Founding story

Airstack was co-founded in May 2022 by Jason Goldberg — a repeat founder whose prior ventures include Social Median, Fab and Hem — together with Deepesh Nath, Sarvesh Jain, Ignas Peciura and Vysakh Nair. Goldberg had previously worked on OpenST, a project building tools for scaling Ethereum applications and embedding crypto wallets in apps, and on Pepo, a short-video app used to showcase that technology which was later shut down. Through that work the team concluded that the main obstacle to building blockchain products was the lack of interoperability between apps and the absence of the kind of APIs that were standard in web2. One account traces the initial concept to a hackathon at which the founders experimented with AI-powered tools for web development. Founded as crypto markets began falling, the team was advised by investors to pause fundraising over the summer of 2022; instead they built a prototype, showed it in September, and raised on the strength of it.
