Bill Hewlett co-founded Hewlett-Packard with David Packard in 1939; the company's first product, an audio oscillator he designed as a Stanford graduate student, was bought by Walt Disney Studios for Fantasia. He served as HP's president and CEO through the 1960s and 1970s and championed the engineering culture and management-by-walking-around practice that defined the HP Way. He died in 2001.
