Tomohiro Takei is the founder and CEO of MAKOTO Prime, having established MAKOTO in July 2011 following the Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequently founding seven companies within the MAKOTO Group, including MAKOTO Capital (now Spurcle) and MAKOTO WILL. He holds a PhD in Life Sciences from Tohoku University and serves as an adjunct associate professor there, and in August 2022 he transferred ownership of the group's subsidiaries to employees through management buyouts while maintaining group collaboration.
