Tom Brown is a Venture Advisor to Restive with twenty-five years of experience as an attorney and investor in fintech. He began his career defending Visa in antitrust matters and later worked in-house at Visa, where he helped drive the company's reorganization and public offering; in private practice he represented eBay and PayPal in antitrust litigation, acted as counsel for Bill Me Later, and obtained a no-action letter from the CFPB for Upstart. He is a partner and general counsel at Nyca, a policy advisor at Paul Hastings, and holds a law degree from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree from Columbia University.
