Steve Case co-founded America Online (AOL) in 1985 and led it as CEO, later negotiating the 2000 AOL–Time Warner merger. For the past 15 years he has focused on building Revolution, a Washington, D.C.-based investment firm whose Revolution Growth arm has backed growth-stage companies and whose Rise of the Rest Seed Fund has invested in over 200 startups. He has held roles including founding chair of the Startup America Partnership and Chair of the Smithsonian Institution, and is the author of two New York Times bestselling books.
