Rada Mihalcea is the Janice M. Jenkins Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan and Director of the Michigan Artificial Intelligence Lab. She co-founded Initium AI and conducts research in natural language processing and artificial intelligence, including work in multilingual NLP, large language models, computational social science, and multimodal processing. Mihalcea is a fellow of the Association for Computational Linguistics, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, and Association for Computing Machinery, and previously served as president of the Association for Computational Linguistics.
