He previously was a General Partner at Rothschild Ventures and an executive at Syntex Pharmaceuticals, where he helped set up its venture capital program, and earlier conducted molecular biology and biomedical engineering research at MIT. He holds an MBA from Stanford Business School and SB degrees in biological sciences and economics from MIT.
