Marc Randolph co-founded Netflix with Reed Hastings in 1997 and served as its first CEO, running the company through the DVD-by-mail launch before handing the role to Hastings in 1999 and leaving in 2003. He has since become one of the most active startup mentors and authors in technology, writing That Will Never Work about Netflix's founding, and advises and invests in early-stage companies.
