Writing
All posts ↗Katy Yam writes personal reflective essays on money and relationships, including a framework for measuring purchases in work hours, rethinking lifelong love promises, and lessons learned from a year at the scaling startup Element AI.
The author describes a personal budgeting framework that converts purchase prices into the number of work hours needed to earn the money, based on net pay, to curb impulse spending.
Reflecting on her marriage, the author argues that promises of loving forever breed complacency and proposes valuing love day by day instead of relying on romantic ideals.
On her one-year anniversary at fast-growing startup Element AI, the author reflects on personal growth, failure, trust-building, and lessons on scaling from a Molly Graham talk.
