Jeongkyu Shin is the founder of Lablup Inc. and has worked on open-source projects for over two decades, including as lead developer of the Textcube Project. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistical Physics from POSTECH, with research in complex systems, agent-based models, and computational neuroscience, and has led machine learning and open-source projects involving text classification, information compression for security, and contextual search. Since 2015 he has worked on Backend.AI, an open-source AI R&D platform, and his roles include Google Developers Expert in machine learning, Google Cloud Champion Innovator, technical mentor at Google for Startups, and representing South Korea on the Innovative Steering Board of the Northeast Asia Open Source Software Promotion Forum.
