Hubert Zajicek is the CEO and Co-founder of Health Wildcatters, a Dallas-based healthcare startup accelerator, where he has led for over a decade. His background bridges medicine and business — he holds an MBA from SMU Cox School of Business and has a scientific career in nephrology, having been inducted as a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. He is deeply embedded in the Dallas healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship community, serving on numerous advisory boards, judging pitch competitions, and co-founding organizations such as Lone Star Angels and the DFW chapter of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs. Founded: Is CEO and Co-founder of Health Wildcatters, a Dallas healthcare startup accelerator. Co-founded and directed Lone Star Angels. Founded and serves as president of the DFW chapter of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SOPE). Co-founded ASCINA - Austrian Scientists & Scholars in North America, and served as its president from 2011 to 2014.
Education: Earned an MBA from SMU Cox School of Business, where he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and featured as an MBA Allstar.
Boards: Appointed to SMU's Innovation Council for a three-year term starting October 2024. Serves on the Investor Initiatives Review Committee for the National Cancer Institute (2026 cycle). Is an Industry Advisory Board member for the Biomedical Engineering department at the University of North Texas. Serves on the Southwest Venture Forum Board at the SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship. Is an SXSW Advisory Board member. Serves on the Innovators Advisory Council at Children's Health.
Communities: President-elect and Foundation Board member of the Rotary Club of Dallas, which he joined in December 2013.
