Danny Crichton is Partner, Research at the venture capital firm Lux Capital, where he serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Securities newsletter and the Riskgaming program, designing geopolitical scenarios and hosting events for senior government, military and policy leaders. Before Lux, he was managing editor at TechCrunch, where he co-hosted the Equity podcast and launched the Extra Crunch premium news service, and earlier worked as a foreign correspondent based in Seoul covering U.S.-Asia technology relations. He was previously an early-stage venture capitalist with General Catalyst and Charles River Ventures. He is a Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, publishing research on AI, urban economics and technology-driven economic development, and he studied Mathematical and Computational Sciences at Stanford before a Fulbright scholarship to South Korea. He is also a prolific reader and theatergoer who publishes annual best-of book, film and theater lists.
