He previously spent thirteen years at Thornburg Investment Management, where he served as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for emerging markets and international equity strategies and, from 2019 to 2021, as the firm's first Director of Research, and earlier was a Partner and Senior Equity Analyst at Marsico Capital Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Colorado Boulder and a B.S. in Geology from the University of Arizona, completed postdoctoral research at Stanford and Columbia's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, and is finishing an M.S. in Analytics at Georgia Tech.
