About
Bill Gross founded Idealab in March 1996. He earlier launched GNP Development, Inc., which built HAL, a natural language product for Lotus 1-2-3, and was acquired by Lotus Development Corporation in 1985; in 1991 he founded educational software publisher Knowledge Adventure, later sold to Havas/Vivendi. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech.
