About
Ann Winblad is a Managing Director and co-founder of Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, which she started in 1989 as a firm focused exclusively on software. She began her career as a systems programmer at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis and in 1976 co-founded the accounting software company Open Systems, Inc., later acquired by UCCEL, after which she consulted for clients including IBM, Microsoft, and Price Waterhouse. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Business Administration from St. Catherine University and an M.A. in Education from the University of St. Thomas, and co-authored a book on object-oriented software.
