Alok Vasudev co-founded Standard Crypto in 2019 and has worked as a venture investor for over a decade, including time at Benchmark investing across consumer, open source, and infrastructure. His investment history in blockchain ranges from the Ethereum ICO to early-stage involvement with Confluent. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford, where his research on semiconductor photonics was published in Science, and previously worked in the semiconductor industry on non-volatile memory devices and photolithography chemistry.

Chart I would love to see.. number of companies (incl startups) designing their first chip vs. time Clearly up and to the right- lots of new chips getting designed... but how many net new custom chips in 2030 compared to 2026? 3x, 5x, 10x, 100x ?
