Ajay Hattangdi has worked with startups for over 20 years and helped build the Indian venture debt industry. In 2005 he established a lending group within Citibank focused on startup debt deals, then launched InnoVen Capital (formerly SVB India Finance), India's first specialty venture debt business, in 2007, later expanding the group into Singapore and China after a 2015 buyout. He left InnoVen in 2017 to co-found Alteria Capital with Vinod Murali, where he serves as Managing Partner. He holds an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Masters in Banking & Finance from Mumbai University.
