Investment thesis
Swedfund is Sweden's development finance institution focused on reducing poverty through sustainable private-sector investment in developing countries. It makes long-term investments in companies and funds — including SME finance, private equity funds and microfinance institutions across Africa, Asia and other emerging markets — aiming to preserve and create decent jobs, strengthen women's economic empowerment, and support climate and sustainability transitions. Alongside direct investments it finances project-preparation activities targeting the public sector via its Project Accelerator, and offers financial and strategic support to Swedish SMEs expanding into Ukraine through its Business Accelerator, while seeking long-term stable financial returns.
