Investment thesis
Qbic is a seed and early-stage venture capital fund built around an inter-university model. It backs spin-offs and start-ups that valorize research originating at its knowledge partners — partner universities, research institutes and hospitals. Eligible companies are either knowledge-partner spin-offs founded on technological innovations from those institutions, or start-ups with a strong R&D collaboration with a knowledge partner structured through joint development contracts, clinical studies or IP license agreements. The fund concentrates on deep-technology and life-science innovation, aiming to transform scientific breakthroughs into commercially viable, sustainable ventures across areas such as biotech, therapeutics, photonics, energy and other advanced technologies.
