Programa Usura Cero is a Nicaraguan state program offering affordable microcredit to women (18+) organized in solidarity groups, financing business start-up or improvement with low interest and free training. Its companion Programa Adelante extends credit to men and women, small producers, entrepreneurs and small rural or urban businesses across all economic activities, via individual or solidarity-group loans, to raise production, add value, and improve product quality and competitiveness. Loans range from C$10,000 up to C$100,000 with terms from 3 to 36 months, requiring business plans, adequate repayment capacity, technical support, and good production practices.
