Pathway to Cures

Willey joined NBDF in November 2022 to launch and lead Pathway to Cures. She has over 35 years of experience commercializing early-stage research, previously serving as founding managing director of IU Ventures' Indiana Philanthropic Venture Fund, founding chief executive of Cambridge Enterprise Ltd, and co-founder of ARCH Development Partners.

Involved in the bleeding disorders community since 2004, Brent handles venture investment work including sourcing, evaluating deals, and managing post-deal relationships. He holds an MBA from Eastern Illinois University.

Dunn is a Professor of Pediatrics at Nationwide Children's Hospital/Ohio State University and directs its Hemophilia Treatment Center. She chairs NBDF's MASAC and is Vice-President of the World Federation of Hemophilia, USA.

Whitehouse leads donor fundraising for P2C and NBDF's national development strategy, with more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and management.

Brian Andrew is a Transformation Engineer at Main Line Health and Communications Manager at Sugati Ventures, a healthtech-focused venture capital firm. He holds a Master's in Health Systems Engineering from Lehigh University, with experience in process improvement, analytics, and simulation modeling applied to clinical settings. He previously led operations and process improvements at a medical product company, where he redesigned fulfillment workflows and developed inventory systems.

Christine Brennan is Managing Director at Vertex Ventures HC, a venture fund investing in biotechnology and medtech companies across preclinical through early commercialization stages. She brings over 20 years of experience in life sciences, including prior roles as Partner at MRL Ventures Fund and Principal at Novartis Venture Fund, with board positions at multiple public and private companies including Boundless Bio and Redona Therapeutics. Brennan holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Dartmouth Medical School and serves as an advisor to various industry organizations focused on life sciences development and diversity in healthcare.

Founder and Managing Partner of Agent Capital who oversees all firm activities including portfolio management and new investments. She previously led Baxter Ventures and Baxalta Ventures (each with over $300M under management) and was a partner at Quaker Partners. She holds a PhD in biochemistry and an MBA from Wharton.

Hematologist and researcher with extensive academic career at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and leadership roles at Versiti blood health organization. Expert in hemophilia diagnosis and treatment with numerous faculty and research directorships.

White is a hematologist and researcher, Adjunct Professor at UNC Chapel Hill, who previously served as EVP for Research and CSO at Versiti Blood Research Institute.

Pierce is an independent consultant and entrepreneur-in-residence at Third Rock Ventures with 30 years of biotech R&D experience. He retired from Biogen in 2014 as SVP of Hematology, Cell and Gene Therapies.

Jiang is co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at PointLoma BioSciences, with deep experience in cell and gene therapy. She contributed to development of therapies at Editas Medicine, Biogen, and Bayer.

High is a visiting professor at Rockefeller University and pioneer in AAV-mediated gene therapy for hemophilia. She co-founded Spark Therapeutics and served as President of AskBio Therapeutics.

A pediatric hematology leader and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Yale University School of Medicine, Recht serves as P2C's Chief Medical and Scientific Advisor. He previously was Chief Science Officer at ATHN and directed hemophilia centers at OHSU.

Harvey serves as CFO of P2C and Chief Business Officer of NBDF, overseeing finance, accounting, and business development. He holds a B.A. in Biology from Augustana College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Gattone is President and CEO of NBDF and a P2C board member. He previously led the Epilepsy Foundation as president & CEO, growing its annual revenues significantly.

A private investor and former Chair of the NBDF Board, Martin co-founded Inspiration Biopharmaceutical and Martin Midstream Partners. He has a son with severe hemophilia.

Richardson is a pharmaceutical medical affairs leader with 28 years of experience, having held senior roles at Astellas, Spark Therapeutics, Baxter, and Eisai. She serves as a Director on the NBDF Board.

Pipe is a Professor of Pediatrics and Pathology at the University of Michigan and Medical Director of its Pediatric Hemophilia and Coagulation Disorders Program, actively involved in hemophilia gene therapy trials.

Fong is an independent consultant and Adjunct Associate Professor at Queen's University specializing in gene therapy. At BioMarin she led development of the first approved AAV-based gene therapy for hemophilia A.
