Investment thesis
NewMargin Ventures pursues a value-investing philosophy built over more than two decades spanning multiple cycles of China's capital markets. Founded in 1999 by Shanghai municipal government, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and national planning/industry fund bodies, it completed a management buyout in 2006. The firm has invested in over 300 companies, roughly 100 of which have gone public or been acquired, and consistently ranks highly in industry league tables. It leverages strategic relationships with Fortune 500 companies, central and state-owned enterprises, listed firms and government guidance funds, and draws capital from leading banks, insurers, securities firms and trusts to form a full fundraising-investment-management-exit ecosystem.
