Investment thesis
MMXXI Fund operates on a philosophy of cooperative economics (inspired by the Swahili concept of ujamaa), aiming to build generational wealth collectively rather than individually. The group pools capital from a community of professionals of color to invest in a diversified portfolio targeting market-rate returns. Its focus is on startups and small businesses, especially those founded or owned by individuals of color, as well as collaboration with like-minded people building for communities of color. The fund describes itself as pursuing high-yield private equity investments with solid fundamentals, framing community success and individual founder success as mutually reinforcing.
