Investment thesis
NJR Invest pursues a conservative, credit-selective strategy focused on defensive, seasoned European asset-backed securities (RMBS, auto loans, consumer and SME loans) that are eligible for repo financing with central banks such as the ECB, targeting a portfolio of around €3 billion held purely on behalf of its shareholder BRED Banque Populaire. The approach favors high-quality, granular assets carrying low capital charges to sustain return on equity above 30%, financed through repos and AAA-rated CP, MTNs and bonds, with interest-rate and currency risks hedged. Its subsidiary IRR Invest diversifies into global private equity and real estate transactions across office, retail, logistics, residential and charter-school assets.
