Investment thesis
The Intuitive Foundation works to reduce the global burden of disease through philanthropy, research, and education. It awards competitive grants and fellowships to nonprofit organizations, research hospitals, universities, and surgical societies, concentrating on technology research, clinical research, and clinical robotics education and training. Priority areas include robotic-assisted surgery and bronchoscopy research, surgical fellowships, and open-access simulation-based training via the Surgical Education Learners Forum. The Foundation also supports STEM and community initiatives such as FIRST Robotics sponsorship and outreach programs that address underrepresentation of women and minorities in STEM and healthcare, aiming to improve patient outcomes everywhere.
