Investment thesis
Finance Yorkshire supplies gap finance to small and medium enterprises across Yorkshire and Humber where private sector funding is unavailable, aiming to help businesses expand, create jobs and improve productivity. Building on the combined legacies of its earlier JEREMIE and Extension Funds and the South Yorkshire Investment Fund, it plans to invest more than £50m over five years. Its three main products span Seedcorn and Growth Fund investments (primarily equity) and large and small loans, structured to back businesses through critical growth stages. The fund complements other regional SME finance providers and often works alongside banks and other lenders.
