Colbeck Capital

Jason Colodne is a co-founder of Colbeck Capital and serves as the senior transaction partner overseeing investment execution, including portfolio management, documentation, and due diligence. He has more than two decades of investing experience focused on special situations. He previously founded and led the Strategic Finance Division at Morgan Stanley and headed the Distressed Research and Investing Desk and the Hybrid Lending Business at Goldman Sachs, and he holds a degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Morris Beyda joined Colbeck Capital in 2009 and serves as the firm's Chief Operating Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer. He was previously CTO of Serengeti Asset Management, where he handled systems and operational responsibilities, and earlier served as North American CIO and VP of Information Technology at Dimension Data Holdings. He began his career in Arthur Andersen's business consulting group and holds a BS in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Robert Gallivan joined Colbeck in 2016. He was previously a Senior Managing Director at Macquarie Securities USA, where he co-founded the business in 2009 and led sales and trading while co-managing a $400M–$750M proprietary book of credit exposure. Earlier he was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley working in fixed income sales and trading, and began his career at Toronto Dominion Bank. He holds a degree from St. Francis Xavier College and an MBA from Columbia University.

Gabe Carreiro is a Managing Director on Colbeck Capital's Investment Team and the firm's Head Investment Counsel, overseeing legal matters, transaction execution, and portfolio management. Before joining Colbeck in 2024, he was a senior member of the Private Credit Team at Summit Partners, where he led credit and structured equity investments and handled workouts and restructurings, and earlier was a corporate finance attorney at Brown Rudnick LLP. He is a licensed attorney in New York and Massachusetts, holds a JD from Suffolk University Law School and a BS from Endicott College, and previously served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Jared Talisman joined Colbeck Capital in 2024 as a Managing Director on the investment team. He previously served as a Managing Director of Direct Lending at Principal Alternative Credit in New York, where he oversaw non-sponsored origination and structuring for a team across five offices, and held earlier roles at Stonehenge Capital, GrowthCap, North Sea Partners, and Lehman Brothers. He holds an MBA from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from McGill University.

Michael Smith joined Colbeck Capital in 2025 as a Managing Director on the Investment Team. He previously founded and led the US Private Debt strategy at Muzinich & Co., and earlier held private credit investment roles at Credit Suisse, GE Antares Capital (now Antares Capital), and Madison Capital Funding (now Apogem), covering sponsor, non-sponsor, and special situations lending. He holds a BA in Chemistry and Math from Boston University.

Adam Weiss joined Colbeck Capital in 2024 as a Vice President on the investment team. He previously worked as a Vice President in the Financial Sponsors Group within Credit Suisse's Investment Banking division, handling debt transactions related to leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, and refinancings, and earlier served as an Analyst at Round Hill Music Royalty Partners. He earned a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from NYU Stern Business School.

Catherine Coyle joined Colbeck in 2023 as a Management Company Controller. She previously served as a Vice President in the Corporate Accounting group at Two Sigma and held a similar role at Davidson Kempner Capital Management covering reporting for domestic and foreign entities, budgeting, and payroll. Earlier, she was a senior accountant at Tish Financial Management and began her career at Marcum LLP; she holds a B.S. in Accounting from Sacred Heart University.

Greg Budetti joined Colbeck Capital in 2024 as Head of Business Development. He previously was a Director at Closed Loop Partners, where he led fundraising, marketing, and investor relations, and earlier held roles at MGG Investment Group, Genesis Global Trading, Anchorage Capital Group, and Nomura Holding America across private capital, sales & trading, and finance. He earned an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and a BS from Fordham University.

Henry Chang joined Colbeck Capital in 2024 as a Senior Vice President on the investment team. He was previously a Director at Arena Investors, where he led origination, coverage, and execution of investments across East and Southeast Asia after moving from the firm's US Corporate Private Credit team to establish its APAC presence. He started his career in investment banking at Credit Suisse's Financial Institutions Group and holds a BS in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Psychology from NYU's Stern School of Business.

Jake Weil joined Colbeck as a Senior Associate on the investment team in 2024. He was previously a Vice President at Morgan Stanley, where he helped found the Fixed Income Emerging Market Structured Lending desk, working on direct lending through corporate loans, asset-backed financings, and special situations. He holds the CFA charter and earned his BA from Dartmouth College.

Luke Vande Guchte joined Colbeck Capital in 2018 as an associate in the firm's New York office. He previously worked as an investment associate at GPB Capital, where he focused on deal origination and the evaluation and execution of investments across sectors such as waste management, healthcare, transportation and logistics, and tech-enabled services, and also held roles in GPB's Special Situations vertical. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Finance with a focus in Economics from the University of Mississippi.

Patrick Cronin joined Colbeck Capital in 2019 as Vice President of Finance and became Chief Financial Officer in March 2020, overseeing financial matters for the firm's managed investment vehicles. He previously spent 11 years at HPS Investment Partners as Global Fund Controller, handling accounting and reporting for more than 120 private credit funds, and earlier held accounting roles at Alliance Bernstein, Paloma Partners, SunAmerica Asset Management, and Dreyfus. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Iona College.

Santiago Diaz joined Colbeck Capital in 2025 as an Associate on the investment team. He previously worked as an Associate in the Capital Solutions Group at CPPIB, evaluating and executing investments across the capital structure for public and private companies in Latin America, and began his career in the Latin America Financing Group within Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking division. He holds a BS in Finance and Economics with a specialization in value investing from the University of Alabama.

Stephan Puhlmann joined Colbeck in 2020 as Senior Controller. He previously served as controller at Green Bay Advisors, LLC, handling budgeting, valuations, treasury, investor relations, reporting, and compliance, and earlier worked at Apollo on credit fund reporting and management, after beginning his career auditing hedge funds and mutual funds at Ernst & Young LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University and is both a CPA and CFA charterholder.

Taylor Amato joined Colbeck Capital in 2022 as Controller. He previously worked at Waterfall Asset Management, where he handled accounting and reporting for several credit funds and managed accounts, and began his career at PwC auditing hedge funds and private equity funds. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Bachelor of Science in Finance, and a Master of Accounting from Penn State University, and is a CPA.

Vincent Forni joined Colbeck Capital in 2024 as a Senior Associate on the investment team. He previously worked as a Senior Associate at Turning Rock Partners, a special situations credit and structured equity fund in New York, where he evaluated and executed new investments as a generalist, and earlier as an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group at Rabobank. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Investments from Baruch College.
