Investment thesis
AIO is an umbrella body for Ontario's organized angel-investing ecosystem rather than a direct investor itself. It convenes angel groups and individual accredited angels who provide capital and volunteer mentorship to innovative early-stage start-ups province-wide. Its mission is to grow Ontario's angel ecosystem to build prosperity, create jobs, and strengthen communities. AIO supports the formation and operation of angel groups, facilitates deal syndication across a provincial network, shares best practices, and provides educational tools through resources such as its Knowledge Hub and Funded magazine. Ontario's angels are said to represent roughly 60% of Canadian organized angel investments, positioning the network as a key driver of the country's innovation economy.
