Investment thesis
Through the OCIDA project (Opportunities for Circular and Inclusive Diversification of Agriculture), Alterna supports companies operating in western Honduras (Copán, Ocotepeque, Santa Bárbara, Intibucá, Lempira, La Paz) that form part of the agricultural value chain with innovative, circular, regenerative, climate-smart, gender-sensitive and inclusive business models. Target sectors include food systems (coffee, vegetables, banana, plantain), organic agricultural inputs and bioinputs, recycling and waste management tied to coffee and vegetables, and agricultural technologies such as smart irrigation and mobile advisory apps. Participating companies receive business-strengthening support, strategic growth plans, pitch preparation, and access to smart incentives/grants to co-finance innovation.
