Investment thesis
AGG aims to scale sustainable investment across Africa by enabling both direct and financial-sector-led climate solutions. It provides senior and mezzanine financing, credit lines, guarantees, and guarantee-type products primarily to Non-Financial Institutions developing energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, while catalysing local financial markets by demonstrating the commercial viability of green finance through partnerships with local financial institutions. Focus areas include green transport (e-mobility, OEMs, charging/transport infrastructure), green housing, green appliances and solutions, and industrial energy efficiency. A dedicated Technical Assistance Facility supports project preparation, capacity building, and long-term ecosystem sustainability.
